Amber grew up east of Sandy, Oregon on her great-great grandfather’s original homestead where they raised cattle, timber, Christmas trees, grass hay, and a small amount of nursery stock. She participated in 4-H and was highly active in FFA with various livestock projects. During her time in the FFA, Amber not only held various chapter offices, but she also competed at the national level in Livestock Judging, and she earned a state title with her Agriculture Sales and Service team. She later went on to receive the Association’s highest degree: the American Farmer.

In 2008 Amber graduated from Oregon State University as a third generation Beaver. During her time at OSU, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management with an option in Finance, as well as a double minor in Business Administration and General Agriculture with an emphasis on Animal Science. She was active and held multiple officer positions in Collegiate FFA and Sigma Alpha Agricultural Sorority and served as an Ambassador to the Colleges of Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resources. She completed her internship at Harvest Capital Company in the summer of 2007 and began to work full time for the company in March of 2008.

After graduation Amber continued her education and completed several accounting and tax classes to become a licensed tax preparer. As a result, Amber is well-versed in tax law, utilizing her experience and knowledge to her commercial real estate lending customer’s benefit with an in-depth understanding of not only tax return analysis, but also an understanding of how taxes play into everyday decisions that have to be made on the farm and in business. Amber also serves as the Treasurer of the Marion-Clackamas Chapter of Oregon Women for Agriculture.
